Under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Coordinator, the Wound Care Technician shall assist the RN in the delivery of outpatient wound care in a clinic setting. Wound Care Technician must be positive and personable with the ability to interact with physicians, nurses, fellow staff members and patients. Will be required to work one-on-one patient care, change wound dressings, ordering of wound care supplies, prepare wound treatment rooms as well as answer phones, assisting with front office duties, assisting hyperbaric staff and keep a neat and organized environment in a steady paced clinic. Assists in the delivery of patient care appropriate to the level of his/her medical training.
Required Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Required Minimum Experience: Six months previous experience in an outpatient clinic preferred.
Required Minimum Licensure: Medical Assistant, EMT II, or Paramedic or college training equivalent.
Required Minimum Certification: Must attend an Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) approved hyperbaric course with T-COM training and obtain certificate of completion within twelve (12) months of assignment to this job.
Required Minimum Skills: Strong communication, presentation, and customer relation skills. Experience managing large complex projects and has strong project management skills. Demonstrates extensive experience in client relationship management. Excellent analytical ability and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients and other staff. Leadership and ability to motivate others.
