United Memorial Medical Center Registered Nurse OB in Batavia, New York

The Registered Professional Nurse represents UMMC in coordinating and overseeing patient care delivery with an interdisciplinary approach, utilizing the nursing process with a commitment to customer service. The Registered Nurse directs, provides patient care, teaching, participates in continuous quality improvement, educational experiences and documents complete and accurate patient information. Maintains standards of professional nursing practice and supports the nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as initiatives. All practices and patient care decisions will be consistent with established hospital policy and procedure, The Joint Commission and all state and federal laws.

Requirement: Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Graduate from an approved school of nursing program. Current RN licensure to practice in the State of New York, NRP certification required within one year. Annual CPR certification required. PALS preferred.

OB experience in labor and delivery, nursery, post-partum and NRP is preferred.

Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in a caring, considerate and concerned manner. Willingness to accept responsibility. Ability to direct ancillary and assistive staff and organize work assignments. Leadership skills essential to the position.
