The Pharmacy Technician also aids the pharmacist in processing of outpatient prescriptions, receives, stocks and reorders medications and supplies, handles cash register transactions, prepares sterile and non-sterile compounds, delivers medications, and assists the pharmacist as required. Education/Experience: * One or more years Pharmacy Technician experience preferred. * Must have a valid driver's license and meet the insurability requirements relating to Park Nicollet's motor vehicle violation criteria. Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses: * Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients. * Must be registered with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician. * Technician certification preferred, however, not required upon hire. Non-certified technicians must become certified as CPhT through either the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) within six months of hire date. * Math aptitude is required. * Ability to type 30 - 40 wpm is desirable. * Knowledge of pharmaceutical products is desirable. Additional Information This position is exclusively for the Methodist Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy. You will processing presccriptions primarily for Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital Hospice patients, hospital discharge patients and Emergency Room patients.
